The Chairperson and the Vigilance Commissioner are appointed by the President of India, while the Chief Vigilance Commissioner is appointed by the President in consultation with the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.


Procedure for lodging a complaint:

The procedure for complaining to the Central Vigilance Commission is simple. Complaints can be lodged either in person, by post, or through the CVC’s website. The Commission has the power to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to prevent corruption.
